A neurotic and depressed New Yorker, Alvy Singer (Woody Allen), has a difficult time maintaining relationships with the various beautiful women he dates. However, everything changes when he unexpectedly meets a free-spirited part-time singer, Annie Hall (Diane Keaton), with whom he eventually falls in love. However, Alvy’s pessimistic attitude soon takes an emotional toll on their relationship, even as they both try very hard to make it work. The movie chronicles the ups and downs of their troubled love-connection; however, when Annie is offered an opportunity to become a successful singer and is asked to move to California, their relationship is put to the ultimate test.
