The first of the Trois Couleurs trilogy, Bleu follows Julie Vignon (Juliette Binoche) as she deals with the sudden death of husband and child in a car accident. Stripped of emotion by the loss of her family, Julie becomes a hermit from society. All those who once knew her must now only assume what she is going through. As she spends more and more time away from those who know and love her, she develops a relationship with her composer husband's music. This connection could be the only thing that saves her. The dead husband's music provides the film's beautifully haunting score.
